National Artists' Self-Portrait Prize 2009
24 November 2009 – 24 January 2010
The University of Queensland National Artists’ Self-Portrait Prize 2009 has been awarded to Julie Rrap for her work 360 degree self portrait.
Following the success of the inaugural prize in 2007, the National Artists’ Self-Portrait Prize returns to the UQ Art Museum in 2009. Featuring a selection of Australia’s most engaging contemporary artists working across a variety of media, this biennial exhibition focuses on a unique aspect of portraiture, that of the artists themselves.
In 2009, entry to the acquisitive prize of $50,000 was by invitation only. Elizabeth Ann Macgregor, Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, is judge of the 2009 prize.
The University of Queensland National Artists’ Self-Portrait Prize highlights The University of Queensland’s commitment to developing a National Collection of Artists’ Self-Portraits.
