Wear It Purple Day was founded in 2010 by Australian students, to express support for fellow queer youth. Now an international movement, Wear it Purple Day is celebrated annually, expressing pride and hope for young LGBTQIA+ people.

Our student team here at the UQ Art Museum have worked incredibly hard to continue awareness for this movement in organising this year's events. Our team has undertaken collaborative research, planning, and development - learning from previous events to create thoughtful programming for this year’s celebrations.  We look forward to sharing it with you!
