recompose 2021 – onwards, is a tarot reading led by artist Caitlin Franzmann. By engaging with a deck of hand drawn divination cards, audiences are invited to attune to the understory of a forest, its leaf litter, humus, microbes, and symbiotic entanglements as analogies for personal and collective guidance. Learning from decay and regeneration, Franzmann draws our attention to nature’s great ‘decomposers’ — the fungi, bacteria, earthworms and insects which play a critical role in the metabolism of ecosystem health and nature’s carbon cycles.
Book to join Caitlin for a reading, each experience is unique and guided by the artist.
This work is presented as part of These Entanglements: Ecology After Nature.
This is a free participatory experience and places are limited. If you can no longer attend, please let us know so that we can offer someone else the opportunity.

Caitlin Franzmann is a Brisbane based artist who works with installation, sound, performance, and community-based projects. In reaction to the fast pace and sensory overstimulation of contemporary urban life, she encourages people to slow down and pay closer attention to their surroundings and interactions with nature. By creating thoughtful and engaging experiences in galleries and public spaces, she fosters conversation and reflection on local histories, ecosystems, and environmental issues.
