National Reconciliation Week: First Nations artists in the UQ Art Museum
For National Reconciliation Week we invite staff, students and members of the public to the Alumni Friends of UQ Collection Study Room to see important artworks by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, including Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri AO, Tracey Moffatt AO, Gordon Hookey and Judy Watson.
View the artworks, reflect on this year’s National Reconciliation Week theme “Be a Voice for Generations”, and discuss the works with UQ Art Museum’s cultural mediation staff. This is not a tour or talk, but rather a self-guided experience with our team on hand to engage in conversation about the artwork.

Free event, space is limited so registration is essential.
This event is presented in line with the UQ Reconciliation Action Plan and in collaboration with the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Engagement), The University of Queensland.

This year's National Reconciliation Week theme is “Be a Voice For Generations”. The theme encourages all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation in tangible ways in our everyday lives – where we live, work and socialise.

The University of Queensland Art Collection is one of Queensland’s most significant. Developed over 70 years, it features more than 4,400 works of art. The work of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists is a key collecting area for the UQ Art Collection, which focuses on the acquisition of art that engages with new and diverse knowledges.
