Our opening celebrations are back!

Join us to celebrate the launch of We Are Electric. Explore the exhibition, enjoy live music, food and drinks on the Art Museum lawn and see a special performance by UQ School of Music.

Our electric line up of artists and performances includes:

  • DJ set by Dameeeela
  • Performance of Quandamooka artist Megan Cope’s sound work Untitled (Death Song) by UQ School of Music
  • Free plant-based food provided
  • Cash bar available
  • Artworks by Will Benedict, Diane Borsato, Eglé Budvytytè, Megan Cope, Michaela Gleave, Jack Green, Haines and Hinterding, The Institute of Queer Ecology, Mavis Ngallametta, Dane Mitchell, Elise Rasmussen, Cameron Robbins, Yasmin Smith, George Tjungurrayi, Girringun Art Centre: Daniel Beeron (Galaman), Davina Harries, Judith Henry, Clarence Kinjun, Doris Kinjun, Debra Murray, and Eileen Tep

All ages welcome. 18+ ID required to consume alcohol. Food is provided free of charge, and drinks are available via cash bar.

Event timings:

6pm: Doors and bar opens, and DJ Dameeeela set starts
6:30pm: Acknowledgement of Country performance by Nunukul Yuggera Aboriginal Dance Group
7:30pm: Untitled (Death Song) by Quandamooka artist Megan Cope activated in a special performance by UQ School of Music
9pm: Event finishes
