On Wednesdays from 11 am - 12 noon during May and June UQ Art Museum invites you to join our trained mediators as we move, change and shape Andreas Angelidakis's 'DEMOS (Sandstone)'. The work consists of fifty light-weight foam blocks inspired by The University of Queensland's sandstone buildings.
With your help, the artwork may form a seat, a stage, a study space, a wall, a monument, a hallway, an archway, or even a ruin. 'DEMOS (Sandstone)' is symbolic for collaboration, as the inherent nature of ‘working together’ is required in order to build a space that works for a temporary community. This work is built by the people, for the people.
*Please note this is a COVID-safe program that involves light to medium-level physical lifting and movement, so please wear suitable attire.
